Nepenthes lowii joined the gang!

I'm super excited to tell you that I finally got my hands on one of the most iconic Nepenthes species- THE Nepenthes lowii. And didn't get 1 but 4 little babies grown by seed by wonderful vincent from cpuk.

I'm totally loking forward growing there (toilet)plants haha! :)) Well I need to wait for like 10 years before I can see the uppers but its never too late to get the plants"!

Seedlings grow grow!

    Lapset kasvaa nopeasti, vaikkakin näin talvikuukausina aika tuntuu kuluvan hitaasti ja tuntuu etteivät kasvit kasva maksimaalista nopeuttaan. Noh, sitä kutsutaan talveksi. Ylemmässä kuvassa itse risteyttämäni kannukasvin taimet 9kk isäisinä ja alempana 3kk ikäisiä tötterölehden taimia

  Babies sure do grow up fast! My Nepenthes (x Tiveyi x veitchii) seedling are now 9-month old and those Sarracenia an a few Drosera are 3-month-old.

Time has gone fas at least for these littel fellas (x Tiveyi x veitchii) . They are now around 8 months old as they germinated between June-July 2015. As watching photos from late last year the seedlings have really turned on a growth spurt! So far I haven't fed them yet althought I sprayed some very weak dilution of seaweed on them as they were younger.

Nää pikkuset kannukasvintaimet on tainneet ottaa melkoisen kasvupyrähdyksen vuodenvaihteen jälkeen. Verrattaessa kuvaa niistä 3kk sitten ja nyt niin sekä kasvit että toi ruukun päällä oleva rahkasammal on hullaantunnu. Osassa kannuissa on jo nähtävissä punasta väriä!

terrarium rearrangement

I have been thinking a long time about cutting the vine of my N. x Tiveyi. I already cut the growth tip in order to activate the internods. The plant produced seeds and I got 5 little babies so that¨'s kind of "your work in done for a white" situation. The plant is however growing 3 basals so I think it will start vining again. I took cuttings and hopefully they will take off and I can sell them next year via cpuk



Oon jo pitkään miettinny ton suurimman terran uudelleenjärjestelemistä. Noh, nyt se on tehty. Ennen terran takaosassa oli korotettu ritilä mutta kun kasvit tuppas kuivumaan siinä tyhjän päällä ja neppien kärhöt menivät ritilän väliin ja jumiutuivat.. Piti sitten vielä katkaista x tiveyin käynnöstävä verso. Juuriversojahan kasvi onneks tekee että eiköhän jonkun vuoden päästä päästä taas nauttimaan uppereista.
